Poetry For Every Season
April was National Poetry Month, a time to celebrate the beauty and power of poetry!
To celebrate, SAISD invited students to showcase their voice and creativity by submitting a formal poetic piece from April 1-25.
These submissions can be viewed here in our SAISD Poetry Slam Flip Library
The Poetry Slam was the culmination of SAISD’s Campaign: Poetry For Every Season, a campaign that has been a touchpoint for poetry creation and ELAR TEKs reinforcement leading up to National Poetry Month.
We are so proud of the over 150+ submissions and cannot wait for these students to receive their Commitment to Creativity Journal!
Campus Shoutout!
Ms. Nava is a Canva rock star!
Ms. Nava learned how to use Canva to help showcase her students and their memories and favorite things about Lamar. She mastered how to upload, trim, and add her own photos, graphics, animations, and transitions to the movie to make it even more personal and capture the highlights of their year together.
I wonder where her Canva creations will go next...
